Should You Lose Weight or Quit Your Job?

January is the most important month of the year.

If used correctly, it can be your own personal launch month. Let me explain what I mean…

January is the beginning of the New Year, but it can be so much more than that.

It just depends what you want for yourself…for your family, in the New Year.

So, what do you want? I’ll wait. What?

Should You Lose Weight or Quit Your Job?

Do you want to get healthier? Lose some weight? Get fit?

Or, get Fitarella. (I couldn’t resist.) Jacqueline Carly has done such a nice job with personal branding, I can’t help thinking of her when I think of getting fit.

Did you know that fitness clubs, (the franchise and non-franchise versions) see a huge increase in membership revenue in January? And February.
Speaking of membership-based fitness franchises, Pat McCoy was a client of mine, and his 3 Snap Fitness franchises are going to be rocking. (Rumor has it that he’s just purchased rights for 3 more.)  Go Pat, Go!

So, maybe you’ll lose some weight, and get fit. What else are you thinking of doing in January?

Are you going to quit your job and buy a franchise? Really? How many times have you loudly stated the first part of that sentence? C’mon; be honest. You’ve been threatening to quit your lousy-ass job for years now. But, you haven’t. You must like the security.

Job security is a great thing to have. Unless of course you don’t have a job, like approximately 8.5% of all Americans. I have a funny feeling that they thought that their jobs were secure, too. It sucks to be out of work. It’s really hard on the family. And, being unemployed can make the most confident person this side of the Mississippi feel like a total loser. Been there.

My marketing strategy dictates that the next logical thing for me to do with this post would be to ask you these questions;

  • Should you become a franchise owner in 2012 ?? (There are going to be so many advertisements and blog posts with a similar title in the next month.)

But, I’m not going to.

You have to decide if you’re going to lose weight or quit your job, first.

Or, maybe you’ll do both.

I hope that the New Year is your year.

Would you like to share some of your plans? Your goals?

I’d love to hear from you…just leave a comment right below this post. Sometimes the art of writing down your goals can help you reach them.

We Visited A Franchise Expo
My wife and I are interested in starting a business so we visited a franchise expo. Afterwards, we were contacted by a couple of franchisors and we soon found ourselves deeply immersed in researching these particular franchises. We needed to take a step back and take stock of the bigger picture: 'Is a franchise right for us? Right now? What types of franchises would suit us?' We needed an independent and knowledgeable perspective. A paid consultation with Joel Libava clarified some of our thinking and gave us some useful ideas to pursue!" "
