(Ross Franklin, founder of Pure Green)
(Sponsored Post)
Ross Franklin wants to help as many people as possible become healthier. That’s why he started Pure Green.
Starting with a location in one of the toughest retail environments in the world-New York City, Ross has been able to expand Pure Green into several locations. And now, through franchising, is adding even more.
Ross has launched a Crowdfunding Campaign* designed to raise capital, and make Pure Green a major player in the growing healthy fast food franchise sector.
I caught up with Ross as he was launching his Crowdfunding Campaign. I think you’ll like what he has to say.
My Interview With Pure Green’s Ross Franklin
Me: Before we get into your exciting new Crowdfunding Campaign, I think it’s important for my readers to learn about Pure Green right from the CEO’s mouth. Please tell my readers (and the world!) about Pure Green. What’s the Pure Green story?
Ross: Pure Green started with a burning desire to make it easier for people to live a healthier lifestyle. I’ve always been a health and fitness enthusiast; my background is in the fitness world.
I remember doing my first cold pressed juice cleanse and halfway through the cleanse, I remember looking in the mirror and noticing how good my skin looked. This caused me to do a deep dive into the benefits of cold pressed juice and superfoods. I attended various superfood and anti-aging conferences and became hooked.
After opening successful juice bars through my consulting business, I realized that the juice bar model is one of the most effective businesses for impacting people’s health through smoothies, acai bowls and cold pressed juice.
This was the foundation for starting Pure Green and our mission became building healthier communities around the globe.
Me: What makes Pure Green special?
Ross: 3 Things.
1. The taste and quality of our products. In developing all of our products, we formulate with a balance between high performance nutrition and amazing taste.
2. The high-performance nutrition in our products. All of our products encompass superfoods for the highest level of nutrition.
3. Our standards for a warm, friendly and engaging experience in our stores. We treat all of our customers as guests and aim to leave a memorable experience in all of our Pure Green locations.
The Elephant In The Room
Me: Personally, I love the fact that Pure Green offers “healthy” fast food. Why do you feel the market is ready for non-greasy fast food items?
Ross: Obesity is a global epidemic and is directly linked with nutrition. By offering healthy and performance driven nutrient rich products, we can directly impact people’s health and work to slow down global obesity while helping people live better quality lives.
Me: When did you decide to franchise the business? Why did you go the franchise route?
Ross: Over the years, we received a great deal of interest in people who want to open franchised Pure Green locations. In 2019, we made the decision to franchise Pure Green as we believe the franchise model is one of the best ways to achieve our mission of building healthier communities around the globe.
The Vision
Me: What’s your vision for the Pure Green franchise? What would you like to see happen?
Ross: Our vision for the Pure Green franchise is to have 50 franchisees signed by the end of 2020 and to then double the number of franchisees each year after that.
Me: Let’s talk about your Crowdfunding Campaign. Crowdfunding is definitely a “thing.” What attracted you to it? Why did you decide to go this route What will you use the money people are investing in Pure Green for?
Ross: We’ve been approached by many VC and private equity firms over the years. We decided that raising money too soon from institutional companies is not the move for the brand as we would potentially be in jeopardy of losing control. We are a mission driven company and the idea for raising money from micro-investors that are fans of Pure Green and believe our mission is much a much better fit for us.
We plan on using the majority of money raised in marketing to find health oriented potential franchisees as well as open up three additional corporately owned Pure Green locations this year.
Pure Green Products
Me: Let’s switch gears and talk about your products. What is your best-selling item? Do you have new product offerings in the pipeline? If so, would you like to share what they are…or what they may be?
Ross: The best-selling items are our handcrafted smoothies and acai bowls. Our Banana Nut smoothie is a personal favorite of mine which includes, banana, grass-fed whey protein, cashew butter, coconut butter and almond milk. All of our products are formulated for amazing taste and with the highest levels of nutrition.
We are working on formulating a Keto Smoothie and a Keto Bowl. They may be appearing on our menu soon.
Me: Finally, since this interview is being published on a franchise website, can you tell readers who would make a good Pure Green franchise owner?
Ross: Our ideal franchise owner is someone who is passionate about health and wellness and believes in our mission of building healthier communities around the globe. We look for franchise owners that are willing to put the time into their stores and lead by example.
Thank you Ross!
And best of luck with your growth plans.
