California Pizza Kitchen (CPK), the iconic restaurant brand celebrated for its bold, innovative flavors and California-inspired menu, has officially entered its next phase of growth with the launch of its domestic franchising program.

For the first time in its nearly 40-year history, CPK is franchising select U.S. markets as part of a larger strategy to accelerate revenue and unit growth. The program will focus on partnering with experienced operators in key markets to expand the brand’s franchise footprint across the country.

Sundine LLC

To kick off this exciting initiative, CPK has announced its first domestic franchise partnership with Sundine LLC, a multi-unit operator with a proven track record in the fast-casual and quick-service restaurant industry.

Under the agreement, Sundine will acquire three existing CPK locations in Las Vegas, Nevada, and plans to develop six additional units across Nevada and Utah over the coming years. These new locations will play an integral role in CPK’s domestic expansion, which seeks to partner with select, top-tier operators who will have exclusive rights to build and develop the brand in specific territories.

Sundine’s expertise and passion for CPK make them the ideal partner to set the standard for future franchising partnerships.”

Sundine brings extensive multi-unit franchising experience to the table, operating more than 85 restaurant and retail units across brands such as Del Taco and Jack in the Box.

Sanjiv Bhagat, Franchise Partner and CEO of Sundine, expressed excitement about the partnership: “Our family has been loyal fans of California Pizza Kitchen for decades. As restaurant owners, we’re confident in the brand’s growth potential and honored to partner with such an innovative and beloved company.”
