Is their guarantee of $1.5 million in revenue over a three year period, a marketing ploy?

Franchise companies all over America are starting to get rather aggressive with their lead gathering techniques. Franchise Fee discounts are starting to appear, and will continue well into 2009.

Please do not buy a franchise because it is a "good deal." Good deals should be reserved for light bulbs, lawnmowers, and maybe even a car or truck. But for a franchise?

It is only a good deal if it is the right franchise for you, if it is in your investment comfort area, and if the timing is right for an investment of this magnitude.

In the case of Skyshades, their offer of a total refund of their $75k Franchise Fee is an enticing one. I have no specific information about the company. I do know that according to their Press Release, they have been around since 2004, and have sold 8 franchises.

I wish them nothing but the best. I just hope they don't attempt to sell franchises in Wasilla, Alaska, or my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. It's probably not sunny enough.
