Are you thinking about buying a junk removal franchise?

If so, you may not have heard of JUNKCO+. It’s a newer brand. But it has some serious muscle behind it. Especially since JUNKCO+ franchisees offer several other services besides junk-hauling.

Let’s get into what those services are, along with JUNKCO+ franchise costs and fees.

Key Overviews

JUNKCO+ is a junk removal and light demolition franchise. It was founded in 2023. The brand began franchising in 2024. It is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

In addition, JUNKCO+ is owned by the BELFOR Franchise Group. That’s a well-established name in the franchise world. Services include residential hauling, commercial cleanouts, estate services, and light demolition. The brand also emphasizes eco-friendly disposal practices.

JUNKCO+ Franchise Costs and Fees

This is an executive-style ownership model. You won’t be hauling junk yourself. Instead, you hire and manage a team of field technicians. Your focus is on growing the business. The total investment ranges from $200,760 to $297,760 for a standard franchise. A conversion option is available for existing junk removal business owners. That path starts at $163,610. Ongoing royalties run between 4% and 8% of gross sales.

What is JUNKCO+?

JUNKCO+ is a junk removal and light demolition franchise. It was founded in 2023 by Blake Gordon. The company is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

And since the brand started franchising in 2024, it makes it very new.

Even so, the needed additional services you can offer as a franchisee makes it very much worth a look.

That said, here’s something important.

JUNKCO+ is part of the BELFOR Franchise Group. BELFOR is a major player in the restoration and services franchise space. That backing matters. It gives the brand infrastructure and credibility right out of the gate.

  • Residential and commercial junk hauling
  • Estate cleanouts
  • Appliance and furniture removal
  • Light demolition work like sheds and decks.

They also emphasize eco-friendly disposal — donating and recycling where possible rather than dumping everything in a landfill. That’s a huge plus in today’s increasingly green world.

The Two Types of JUNKCO+ Franchise Opportunities

Before we get into the numbers, you need to know something.

JUNKCO+ offers two different entry paths for aspiring franchisees.

Option 1: Standard Franchise

This is for someone starting fresh. No existing business. You’re building a business from the ground up.

Option 2: Conversion Franchise

This is for someone who already owns a junk removal business. You convert your existing operation into the JUNKCO+ brand. The costs are lower because some of the pieces are already in place.

Knowing which path fits your situation will shape everything that follows.

JUNKCO+ Franchise Costs and Fees: The Numbers

Standard Franchise Investment

The total estimated investment for a standard JUNKCO+ franchise runs from $200,760 to $297,760.

Here’s how that breaks down:

  • Franchise Fee: $55,000
  • Initial Package Fee: $16,000
  • Vehicles: $92,000 – $100,000
  • Equipment and Technology: $2,000 – $5,000
  • Insurance: $10,200 – $17,850
  • Training Costs: $2,000 – $5,000
  • Grand Opening Marketing: $2,000 – $6,000
  • Working Capital (3 months): $15,000 – $30,000

With those items in mind, your vehicles are the single biggest cost. That makes sense. Junk removal is a truck-based business. You can’t do this work with mini-vans.

Conversion Franchise Investment

If you’re converting an existing business, the total range is $163,610 to $282,760.

The franchise fee drops significantly — to between $20,000 and $40,000. That’s a meaningful savings. Everything else stays roughly the same.

JUNKCO+ Ongoing Fees

Buying the franchise is step one. But you’ll also pay ongoing fees once you’re open.

Here’s what to expect:

Royalty Fee: 4% to 8% of gross sales

That’s a wide range. The sliding scale is worth examining carefully in the JUNKCO+ Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). You’ll want to understand exactly how and when that rate increases (with a franchise lawyer).

Brand Fund Fee: 2% of gross sales

This goes toward national or regional advertising and brand development. It’s a standard structure in franchising.

So at minimum, you’re paying 6% of your gross revenue back to the franchisor on an ongoing basis. At the high end, that jumps to 10%. So, plan accordingly.

What Do You Get for Your Initial and Ongoing JUNKCO+ Franchise Costs and Fees?

In my experience, fees only make sense in the context of what you receive. Here’s a quick look at the support structure JUNKCO+ provides.

Training: New franchisees go through a two-month self-guided pre-opening program called JumpStart. That’s followed by a mandatory five-day in-person training at headquarters covering operations, estimating, job flow, and brand standards.

Call Handling: BELFOR’s platform provides access to centralized call support. That means someone is answering phones even when you’re in the field.

Marketing Support: You get local marketing playbooks and lead management tools. Grand opening support is also included.

Field Coaching: Ongoing operational check-ins are part of the model.

This level of support is a direct benefit of being part of the BELFOR Franchise Group. A standalone startup wouldn’t have any of this on day one.

Territory Size

JUNKCO+ territories are built around zip codes. Each territory is designed to cover a population of roughly 450,000 to 550,000 residents. That’s a solid customer base for a service business.

But keep in mind the company retains some rights within your territory. This includes the ability to authorize other franchisees to work in your area for large regional or national accounts. Make sure you understand how that works before you sign anything. Read that sentence again.

The Owner’s Role

This is not a business where you’re throwing junk in a truck every day.

That’s because JUNKCO+ is designed as an executive-style ownership model. Your job is to hire and manage field technicians, build local business relationships, oversee scheduling, and grow the operation. The physical work is handled by your team.

That structure appeals to people who want to run a business, not just buy a job.

Is The JUNKCO+ Franchise Opportunity Reasonably Priced

Let’s put this in perspective.

The junk removal industry is pretty stable. People always need stuff hauled away. Regulations around responsible disposal keep growing, which actually drives demand for professional services.

The investment range — roughly $200K to $300K for a standard location, is on par with many service-based franchises. It’s not cheap. But you’re also getting a truck, training, marketing support, and access to a proven franchise infrastructure.

The ongoing royalty range of 4% to 8% is where you’ll want to do your math carefully. Ask for Item 19 of the FDD. That’s where you’ll find any financial performance representations. Study those numbers hard. And if they’re not disclosed, ask existing franchisees how much they’re making. Wait. You don’t know how to ask those questions? Use this.

My Final Thoughts

JUNKCO+ is a young brand. That’s both a risk and an opportunity.

The upside?

You could get in early on something with real growth potential — especially with BELFOR’s backing.

The downside?

There’s limited franchisee history to draw from. Validation calls with as many existing franchisees as possible is essential.

Given these points, you need to do thorough your due diligence.

That means reading and highlighting the FDD thoroughly. Hiring a franchise attorney before you sign. And making sure the territory economics work for your market.

Finally, If junk removal and the related add-on services JUNKCO+ provides appeals to you, the JUNKCO+ franchise opportunity is worth a closer look. Even if it is a young franchise concept.
