Hopping-Mad Australian Franchisee Creates a Complaint Website (Then is Asked to Take it Down)

A disgruntled (angry) franchisee of The Cheesecake Shop has been asked to take his website down. it may have something to do with the name of the site, but I’ll let you decide.

It’s called, www.cheesecakeshoplies.com ….. and it’s worth a look. Look 

It’s a great-looking site for sure, and …..wait; you can’t pull it up either? I wonder why?

So much for freedom of speech Down Under.

Of course, the USA has some angry franchisees too….and some of them even set-up angry websites.

It seems that this Australian franchisor is requesting that it’s 150+ franchisees spend some money to re-fit their stores. They want a new look. Well, the economy in Australia must not be exactly rocking and rolling, because lots of franchisees are playing hide-the-cheese; they don’t seem to have the cheese to pay for a re-fit. Things are in mediation now, so we’ll see how things play out.

This reminds me of all of those “disgruntled,” (I really despise that goofy word) franchisees who had to pay $50,000+ each to re-fit their Mailboxes Etc. stores when UPS purchased the entire franchise. Things went from red and blue, to brown.

$50,000 sure sounds like a lot of money to spend in a lousy economy. Right?
