The beloved fast-casual restaurant chain Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is kicking off 2025 with a significant expansion that will delight fans across multiple regions. Where?
The brand just announced three major development deals that will add 15 new locations. They’re going to be in Nebraska, North Dakota, and Maryland. This marks an exciting new chapter in Freddy’s national growth strategy.
Breaking Down the Growth
In Omaha, Nebraska, local operator TR Hospitality is deepening Freddy’s presence in the market with three new restaurants planned for Douglas and Sarpy counties. This expansion will give more Omaha residents access to Freddy’s signature cooked-to-order steakburgers and freshly churned frozen custard treats.
And, perhaps the most ambitious expansion is happening in North Dakota, where restaurant industry veterans Kyle and Vicki Sedivec are bringing seven new Freddy’s locations to the state.
As longtime fans of the brand themselves, the Sedivecs understand firsthand the appeal of Freddy’s unique dining experience and are excited to share it with communities across North Dakota.
Meanwhile, the brand is making its first move into Maryland through a partnership with A2SI Group, LLC. The new franchisee has committed to opening five restaurants in Prince George’s County, introducing the brand to an entirely new market of potential customers.
Why Are Would-Be Franchisees Choosing Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
From a Press Release:
“These expansions demonstrate the compelling opportunity Freddy’s presents to franchisees,” says Andrew Thengvall, Chief Development Officer. “Our franchisees are drawn to Freddy’s because of our commitment to community, quality, and hospitality. Each new location becomes more than just a restaurant – it becomes a local favorite where guests can count on hand-crafted meals and a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere.”
The Numbers Behind the Growth
Freddy’s impressive trajectory is backed by solid numbers. The brand currently operates over 550 restaurants across 36 states, with more than 130 additional locations already in development for 2025 and 2026. This growth is supported by industry recognition, including:
