I’m not sure if it’s because of the sheer volume of food franchises around, or if it’s just easy for the current crop of technical geniuses to create them, but food franchise owners have access to the coolest business tools.

You may not know this, but I was in the food business. I was in restaurant management. Heck, I started in the food business at the most basic level…as a dishwasher!

Food franchise owners need to have great tools in order to survive these days. There’s more competition. There are more chances to thrive or die, because of social media. Review sites like Yelp are available for today’s diners, and their easy access makes for fast decision making.

Food franchise owners and managers can benefit greatly from today’s tools. Razor thin margins need to be constantly monitored. Payroll costs need to be watched.
