In Part II of this post, I discussed how folks with Attention Deficit Disorder tend to get bored rather quickly, and tend to burn themselves out.
I also named some very famous people who had A.D.D. like Bruce Jenner, and Ann Bancroft.

Attention Deficit Disorder can actually be a good thing….
Here are some things about A.D.D. that help me as an entrepreneur;
- I'm fast. I don't like to get bogged down by things that can slow me down. (Like lots of little details) This enables me to just do it.
- I'm highly intuitive, especially when it comes to sizing up another human. If my internal radar sounds an alarm when I meet someone, I always trust that alarm, and I flee.
- I don't plan ahead, too much. I just kind of "show up." I don't prepare that much. (But, I do prepare) It works for me. Not preparing a lot, frees me up to do other things.
- I'm tenacious, and I rarely back down. If I've been wronged, I won't go away.
The online world seems to be a great match for some of my A.D.D. traits. The internet is all about speed, so that's an obvious fit.
I pump out tons of franchise and small business related content, and as soon as I think up a topic, I write about it-right away. I feel that if I don't write the article at that moment, I'll forget all of the brilliant (kidding) thoughts that are running through my brain. Call me paranoid. Go ahead 🙂

There's also a dark side to my A.D.D. (That statement was actually a little too dramatic)
There actually are some negatives, though.
Sometimes, by moving too fast, I miss things. Like punctuation I've also sent out some 140 character items on Twitter that I wish I hadn't. (Only a couple, actually)
I have definitely written some emails in which incorrect punctuation wasn't an issue. (But the words certainly were!)
Impatience is on top of the hit parade, when it comes to what I really need to work on. I interrupt others. A lot. I get rather paranoid about losing my train of thought when I want to respond to what someone is saying, so I just jump right in.
In summation, I really do feel that for the most part, my A.D.D. is a positive, in my current entrepreneurial situation. I just have to make sure I leverage it, correctly.
I feel that it has given me a leg up on some of my competitors. I entered the blogging space very early, and that alone has helped me leverage some of the things I've learned about the franchise industry via the hundreds of articles I have written, which the search engines now have in their massive databases.
Now, about all of these cool ideas I constantly have running around in me head….
