Frozen yogurt franchises are hot. Current offerings in the space seem to be doing well, and there seems to be an endless supply of “New” frozen yogurt concepts offering franchises as of this writing.
It’s worrisome to me, but hey; I don’t know anything about hot franchise sectors getting cold.
And don’t forget, there’s that “entrepreneurial” part.
Wanted: Creative Franchise Owners
If you’re thinking of buying a frozen yogurt franchise, do you really think that you’ll be doing some real entrepreneurial trailblazing? Do you really think that there are going to be a lot of opportunities to be creative?
Now, I don’t want you to think that I’m slamming the frozen yogurt sector of franchising. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with investing in a frozen yogurt franchise – as long as it matches exactly what you want in a business, and why you want to be in business for yourself. What is wrong is how some franchises…not just food franchises, are being peddled. Franchise marketing departments know that potential franchise owners are attracted to the “E” word — Entrepreneur. This is no doubt a powerful term – one that evokes visions of multi-million dollar homes overlooking Malibu Beach, 100 foot yachts, and indoor/outdoor swimming pools.
Except that you’re not really the entrepreneur.
The person that came up with the concept is the entrepreneur.
Please don’t forget that, as you search for that perfect franchise to buy.
