Advocates of franchising say Hawaii still is a ripe market for new
stores and service franchises. While franchises typically cost at least
$50,000 to buy, the appeal to entrepreneurs is that they don�t have to
start from scratch.
In addition to a slew of new taco, sandwich and frozen yogurt
joints, big national franchises chains offering everything from fitness
gyms to dog training, auto repair and junk-hauling are opening or
