Sometimes, this thing we call “the internet,” causes me to shake my crown from side to side.
And Google? Google Translate?
A mere ten years ago I was struggling to learn how to use Microsoft Outlook to send electronic mail (E-Mail) to folks only five miles away.
Fast-Forward
I just got off a Skype phone call (I’m joelmlibava on Skype) with a rather influential lady in blogging circles, who was calling me from a little town near France, during her dinner hour. And the call was totally FREE! Who would have thunk it????
It gets even better. But first let’s go back to the question up above;
Who would have thunk it?
- A guy from Seattle, Washington
- A guy who doesn’t have to look for Jobs
Those geniuses were so ahead of the curve back in the 80s. (Heck, they started the curve!)
Now to the topic at hand;
A Bridge.
In this case, a bridge from Cleveland to Barcelona. This bridge was built in a matter of two days by a Barcelona franchise blogger, a Cleveland franchise blogger, and some major construction funding and engineering help from Google. They have a cool tool. It’s called called Google Translate.
I connected with Josan Garcia, the blogger from Barcelona, a couple of months ago on Facebook. We kind of found each other there. Well, he ended up sending me a link to his blog, and well, I had no idea what to do with it. You see, I don’t speak Spanish. But Google does. I’ll show you..
Go to Josan’s fine looking WordPress blog, and then come back here, real quick.
Ok, now go back to it, but this time I want you to also open a new tab in your browser and put in this url;
https://translate.google.com/#
You’ll see a box on top, and all you have to do is copy and paste the url from Josan’s Franchise blog into that box.
This one-https://www.elblogdelafranquicia.com/blog-de-la-franquicia-en-franchise-king/
Now hit enter.
Now, you can read Josan’s blog, in all it’s glory, in English. (Or choose another language!)
*************************************************************************************************
Josan and I can now share franchise articles with each other, and even our thoughts and opinions about our industry in general. Good stuff! (Good for us. Bad for Spanish teachers.)
That’s how Google helped build a bridge between Cleveland, Ohio and Barcelona, Spain.
What bridges have you been traveling on lately?
