Read Blogs On The Go With The Amazon Kindle

Franchise PR Queen

When folks like Rhonda Sanderson (The Franchise PR Queen) tells me that she judiciously reads my blog posts on her Kindle when she's traveling, or just when she's out and about, I'm willing to take that as a strong sign that more and more people will start purchasing one of these cool readers.

(FYI- The Franchise King Blog was one of the 1st small business blogs available to Kindle users when the Kindle launched in November of 2007, and was the first franchise-related blog to be offered on the Kindle site.)

Since I don't travel a lot, purchasing a Kindle doesn't make much sense for me, even at it's new lower price point. But, when I do start traveling more, the Kindle will be at my side, along with my laptop, and carry-on suitcase.

Here's some cool things about the Kindle;

  • It's lighter and thinner than a typical paperback, and weighs only 10.3 ounces.

  • More than 5000 top blogs from the worlds of business, technology, sports, entertainment, and politics, including BoingBoing, Slashdot, TechCrunch, ESPN's Bill Simmons, The Onion, Michelle Malkin, and The Huffington Post— are available and are updated wirelessly throughout the day.

  • You can get top U.S. newspapers including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post; top magazines including TIME, Atlantic Monthly, and Forbes— and all are auto-delivered wirelessly.

  • You can eMail your Word documents and pictures (.JPG, .GIF, .BMP, .PNG) to Kindle for easy on-the-go viewing.

The Kindle is getting more popular, and it's even more affordable. Maybe it's for you.

Get it.

( Full Disclosure; I'm an affiliate with Amazon. That means that if you purchase your Kindle through this blog, I make a few bucks. I hope you are ok with that.)
