As I tell folks in my seminars, owning a home based business doesn’t mean you are "at home." It means that most of the time, you are out and about, selling, marketing, and visiting with current and prospective clients, and customers. I do not know too many home based franchise owners who are introverted.
If you are considering starting a home based small business/franchise, here are some tips, to help you decide if home based small business/franchise ownership is right for you:

A gentle tip from The Franchise King®:
Do not buy a franchise until you know EXACTLY how to do thorough research.
Learn how here
1. Make sure you are really disciplined. No one will be around to give you that extra push, when you are not in the mood to meet some potential new clients/customers.
2. Focus on business, during business hours. Will you be tempted to cut the lawn, or do some laundry, just because you are home more now? Focus!
3. Don’t go the home business route just because it costs less to get into. Just because it costs less, doesn’t necessarily make it "cheaper," if it is not the right fit for you, and your personality.
4. You will be on your PC more than ever. Now is probably not the time to experiment with video gaming or online poker, as a way to relax. You just might find yourself getting addicted to these "games," which will cause you to lose your focus, and come up with all kinds of excuses to stay home more.
In summation, if you are thinking of investing in a home based small business/franchise, investigate it just as thoroughly as you would any other type of business. Make sure it is the right fit.
