Buying a franchise in this sector is really no different than buying any other type of franchise. You still have to figure out if you should even be looking at a franchise system. Choosing a franchise in this young sector of franchising can be a little tricky. This is a new category. You’ll need to go slow. Contact a few different companies. See what they’re offering. And make sure that they aren’t greenwashing. (Greenwashing involves companies that say they’re green, but they’re really not.)
Once you’ve narrowed down a few franchises, contact the development department, and request information. After you digest it, arrange a call with the franchise development director.
If you’re still interested after your phone call with them, keep going. Do some online research on the franchisor. Then do some real franchise research. The kind that could make you a little nervous, because you’ll be calling and meeting franchisees that are in the systems you’re interested in.
Then, you’ll have to get a franchise loan. And hire a franchise attorney. And write a big, fat check.
