Weeding through business news of any type online can be truly overwhelming.There are just so many darn choices! Too much clutter potential!
Would you like to know how I’m able to organize the day’s top business-related stories into one clean, neat, and manageable little pile?
I’ll tell you in a minute. My friend, Chris Brogan, just posed this question on his blog, as it relates to reading and keeping up with information overload, for those of us that feel the need to stay business-current, as part of our jobs;
“Will it really improve your business, reading all those feeds?”
Chris’s post, titled, “Reading RSS Feeds Is Not a Job,” gets to the heart of the matter; in his case, it is part of his job. And in typical Chris fashion, he ended his post asking us all a question. Can you guess what the question is?
Chris uses a feed reader; I just can’t do it anymore. I just don’t like them. And, I haven’t figured out why, yet.
I found what I consider to be a better way to digest and organize business news. (It’s better for me)
Now, Chris is a guy I learn from every day. Actually, I probably learn from him several times a day. His tool is a lot sharper than mine, so I’m not here to tell you that his way is wrong.
Yep. I use Guy Kawasaki’s Alltop.com. I love it. It’s easy to read, set-up, and use.

A gentle tip from The Franchise King®:
Do not buy a franchise until you know EXACTLY how to do thorough research.

I spent a half-hour choosing what I feel are the most important business blogs. I snagged them from the Small Business Page on Alltop.com’s start page, created my free account, and wella! My own page of news I can, and do use.
For me, it’s a great way to stay up to date on all the happenings in the world of business. It’s easier on my eyes than a normal feed from a feed reader.
In one sentence, Guy tells you why Alltop.com was started;
“The purpose of Alltop is to help you answer the question, ‘What’s happening?’ in ‘all the topics’ that interest you.”

(Disclosure; I was able to get involved in Alltop.com when it was first launched. I helped put together the Franchise Page on Alltop.com. It was pretty cool. Thanks, Guy. Thanks, NEENZ.)
Here’s a short video interview I did with NEENZ, about how the franchise page was created.
NEENZ is Guy’s right-hand lady for the Alltop.com site, and we’ve gotten to know each pretty well other the past few years. She rocks. She does some really cool things in her home state of Hawaii.
So, are you going to spend a half-hour setting up a free personalized Alltop.com page for your feeds?
Or, are you going to do it “Brogan” style?
