Have Your Franchise Research Questions Ready
If you’re willing to at least consider parting with some of your hard-earned money in order to own what you do, and you’re leaning towards franchise business ownership, do yourself a favor; have a long list of great research questions written down that you can ask current franchisees and franchise company executives.

Franchising: How Is Their Technology?
“Is the franchisors technology current and trouble-free?”
If you’re not a technology expert-tech-nerd, don’t worry; you don’t need to be. You just have to know what the franchisor is using, and how well it’s working. You really need to find out if it’s helping the franchisees that are in the system make more money and avoid a lot of business headaches.

I’ve found that most of today’s franchisors use things like:
- CRM systems
- Email marketing software
- Point of Sale systems
- Sales reporting software

Great technology is great…as long as it works.
But, what if it breaks a lot?
Call me crazy, but if you get far enough down the franchise exploration path, and you get invited to headquarters for a Discovery Day, I’m thinking that the technology people at the corporate office will tell you that their technology is “the best.”
In addition, (call me crazier) you may even hear that it’s super-reliable.
And, maybe it is the best. Maybe it is super-reliable.
But, there’s really only one way to find out.
You know what that is, right?
Call and visit current franchisees, and see for yourself.
And, ask them how they feel about the technology.
You’ll be glad you did.
