Are the franchisees happy? Kind of important to know, right?
Part of what you’ll be doing-as part of your research into the franchise opportunities you’re interested in, must include reaching out to existing franchisees. You need to pick up your phone and call them. And, when you get them on the phone, you need to ask questions.
The best way to ask questions of the franchisees is to have them prepared ahead of time. I suggest making a list of questions you feel you need to have answered.
Franchise Question: Would You Do It Again?
One of the best questions to ask every single franchisee you talk to can be very, very revealing. Don’t skip it-but don’t ask it too early in the call. Warm things up a bit, first.
Would you like me to show you how?
In the video below, check out how I ask a current franchisee of “Bucket of Wings,” a franchise question. I think it will be helpful.
What do you think?
Do you have a better feel of how to approach existing franchise owners of the franchise concepts you’re interested in?
Fact: There are still people buying franchises today that don’t call existing franchisees before they send in their money.
Please don’t skip this part of the franchise research process.
If you do, you could end up failing.

"I was pretty focused on a particular franchise opportunity when I reached out to Joel Libava. In the course of a 1-hour conversation, Joel was able to ask questions and provide direct advice to help clarify the process for me and help guide me through the next steps in my vetting process. He even put me in contact with other professionals who were able to help educate me further in my particular industry. The time and money were well spent."
