I’m not a fan of Lady Gaga. I don’t care for her music. I don’t care for her over-the-top style. But, as Mack Collier, in his business book, Think Like A Rock Star explains, she does know how to gain fans.
Mack Collier was at a dinner that I was invited to that included several attendees of Content Marketing World in Cleveland a couple of years ago. I had heard of Mack; he founded #Blogchat, a popular business chat that takes place on Twitter.
When I heard that he was writing a business book, I was very curious to see what it was going to be about. Mack sent me a complimentary copy; I dove into it right away.
Think Like A Rock Star Rocks
I didn’t expect to learn so much about Lady Gaga…and quite frankly, I wasn’t exactly excited to see that she was featured so prominently throughout Mack’s book. But, I’m glad she was.
Lady Gaga knows how to attract and cultivate fans. From Think Like A Rock Star:
“Perhaps no rock star in the world does a better job of embracing her fans that Lady gaga. Lady Gaga goes out of her way to communicate two very important messages to her fans.”
According to Mack, the two messages are:
- You are special
- I love you.
Business Book About Understanding Your Fans
Mack…throughout his business book, Think Like A Rock Star, explains how important it is for individuals and brands to understand their fans…deeply. That’s because if you don’t understand where they’re coming from…what makes them your fans, you can’t possibly know how to keep them as fans.
Rock stars-according to Mack, really know how to do this.
Think Like A Rock Star is a must-read book for anyone that wants to learn how to attract fans. You’ll learn how to find their “hot buttons.” You’ll learn how to find your most raving fans…the ones that will do anything to help you launch new products or new services. I didn’t really want to learn about Lady Gaga. As I said, I’m not a fan.
But, I’m glad that Mack Collier used her as a prime example of how it’s done.
